Rather than rectangular, the back has a distinctive notch nodding to the graphic lines of Josef Hoffmann's architectural magnum opus, the Stoclet Palace. With the benefit of a strong inside taper, the front legs flare slightly. The back legs have an exaggerated sweep. An upholstered chair is ultimately about the fabric.
